MRSS Elementary Band Program

The MRSS Elementary Band program is taught by Mr. Weingartner, band teacher at Maple Ridge Secondary School. On Mondays and Thursdays, students from three surrounding elementary schools travel to MRSS to meet with Mr. Weingartner between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.

These students practice seperately twice per week, but perform as one group for concerts. Students need to supply their own instrument, though MRSS has some loaner instruments for students that need one. Most students rent their own instrument through a local music store.

If you have any questions for Mr. Weingartner about the elementary band program, please email him at Brian_Weingartner@sd42.ca

Trombone Choir!

Wow! You really need to see this link on Youtube. This is the Southeast Trombone Symposium presenting a trombone choir composed of post-secondary trombone professors (teachers) only! This is an amazing sound. Turn up your speakers and make sure you see it to at least the Star Wars point. Definitely the coolest sound in the band!

Mnozil Brass!

Here is another really cool video on YouTube. The Mnozil Brass are a world-class brass quintet. Check out what they do with the old tune "Lonely Boy" in this video!
